Belvidere Physical Therapy's Tim Seppelt, PT, DPT, Cert. SMT, Cert. DN Completes the Spinal Manipulation Institute’s Course on Extremity Manipulative Therapy

Tim Seppelt, PT, DPT, Cert. SMT, Cert. DNTim Seppelt, PT, DPT, Cert. SMT, Cert. DN of Belvidere Physical Therapy, completed the Spinal Manipulation Institute’s course on Extremity Manipulative Therapy: Upper and Lower Extremity HVLA Thrust Manipulation.

Tim has specialized in the treatment of the spine over the past several years and has completed extensive coursework on the use of thrust manipulation.  This most recent course complements his previous training and now allows him to manipulate the entire body.

Thrust manipulation is the use of a quick force to a joint in the body to improve the mobility and function of that joint.  Joints in the body can become stiff, painful, and swollen over time and thrust manipulation helps to reduce these symptoms.  In addition to restoring motion and relieving pain, thrust manipulation also decreases inflammation and reduces muscle tension.

Thrust manipulation as a treatment option is beneficial for those suffering from headaches, neck pain, and low back /SI joint pain.  Thrust manipulation is also used to treat elbow tendonitis, osteoarthritis, ankle sprains, and plantar fasciitis.  If you are dealing with pain related to any of these issues, please contact us for an evaluation.

If you suffer from a condition that requires treatment, see your doctor and have him or her write a prescription for physical therapy.  For more information on becoming a patient of Tim, call Belvidere Physical Therapy at (815)547-4777.
