Feature Friday- Get to Know Diane Parrish, PT, DPT of Marengo Physical Therapy

DIane Parrish, PT, DPT, OCSThis week we are happy to feature Diane Parrish, PT, DPT of our Marengo Physical Therapy clinic. We sat down this week with Diane to learn a little more about her.

Tell everyone a little bit about yourself.

My name is Diane Parrish, PT, DPT and I am a staff physical therapist at Marengo Physical Therapy.  In addition to my experience in outpatient orthopedics, I specialize in vestibular rehabilitation. 

I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from St. Ambrose University.

I reside in Kirkland, Illinois with my husband Steve and two sons, Evan and David.  

Do you belong to any groups or clubs?

I am active with my church, the First United Methodist Church of Kirkland, leading the choir and drama teams.  I also serve as a volunteer soccer coach with AYSO.

Do you have any upcoming personal or professional milestones?

Yes, professional.  In the future, my is to goal is to work towards becoming a certified hand therapist.

What inspires you to do what you do?

I enjoy helping people and seeing patients return back to the things that they love to do.

What is the best part of job?  What is the most difficult?

I like working with people and hearing their life stories. I love helping people to overcome obstacles and turn their difficulties into successes.

The most difficult part is the paperwork.

What do you enjoy doing in your fun?

In my spare time I enjoy woodworking, working on small projects around our home, singing and drama.

What is something that people are surprised to learn about you?

I started out as a music performance major on the clarinet before changing my major to physical therapy.  Music is still a big part of my life.

I have been hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon on an overnight back packing trip, and I went to Alaska on a mission trip.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

You can do anything you set your mind to do.
