Kayla Roth, PT, DPT, Cert. DNSauk Valley Physical Therapy would like to announce that Kayla Roth, PT, DPT, Cert. DN is a certified provider in dry needling. Kayla completed the coursework for both upper and lower extremity dry needling through the Dry Needling Institute, American Academy of Manipulative Therapy.

The coursework covered dry needling techniques of specific muscles and tissues for a variety of upper and lower body conditions.  The information presented through various courses focused on current research and most recent evidenced based approaches for the application of dry needling.

Dry needling involves inserting myofilament needles into specific muscles, tendons, ligaments and/or tissues in order to reduce pain and tightness, facilitate healing and improve functioning.  Dry needling is a treatment option that pairs well with traditional physical therapy in order to provide the most well rounded approach and treatment.  Dry needling is beneficial for patients suffering from joint pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, headaches, neck or back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and fibromyalgia.

For more information regarding this treatment option, please contact either one of Sauk Valley Physical Therapy locations (Main- 815-548-4888 or Westwood- 815-622-2246).
